How it Works

Step 1  - Book a discovery and/or intake interview

Please visit this registration form below and fill out all the information there to give Ms. Webb a starting point to prepare for the first session for your child, which will be held at WebbSprout school based out of Ms Webb’s home in Confederation Park. .

Step 2 - The first session

The first 30 minutes of our session together is a complementary discovery session where families and Ms. Webb can get to know each other and ensure that Webbsprout is a good fit for your child's needs.

After this initial conversation, Ms. Webb will conduct a low pressure assessment of the student and get an idea of their needs and personal goals. She will also ask about your family situation, schedule, and budget.  The intake session last from 90 minutes to 2 hours.

The assessment cost $150

Step 3 - Prepare a program

After the intake session is complete, Ms. Webb will prepare a program suggestion for your child that will involve a mixture of one on one coaching group, cohort sessions, and digital check-ins. Depending on the situation she may request an in-home visit to learn more about the family situation or a school observation and meeting with the teacher to learn more about what is happening there.

In-home assessment

This is an option for families, especially if there are problems that are happening at home or if the routines at home are contributing to problems at school. By observing the students in their home environment and speaking with family members, Ms. Webb can suggest additional strategies that could be implemented at home to improve their overall ability to regulate and be successful in other environments.

In-home assessment cost $150 plus transportation.

School observations & meetings

There are several benefits to observing students in classroom environments and speaking with teachers in formulating a plan for effective intervention. Linking Webbsprout to the school environment can help ensure that students continue to work towards meeting their learning goals in the classroom. Having Ms. Webb attend IEP and other meetings with teachers can help parents advocate for their child's needs and foster a team approach to supporting them in attending their goals.

Cost $150-$200 plus transportation. If parents drive, can include that time for preparation

Small group cohort coaching - In groups of 3-8 students per cohort, work is focused on social skills development while receiving individualized behavioral coaching in a student driven supportive environment. The sessions last 2 hours, with the last 30 minutes being a supervised free-play time when parents are invited to join and participate with the kids or chat with Ms. Webb while observing the kids play. Each session will involve some small group discussion time and a key activity such as a game, craft, or skill to learn.

Cost: $160 for 2 hours ($80/hour)

1-on-1 coaching sessions - An opportunity to review in-depth with students their goals,  fears, and struggles in order to progress in their custom support plan. These sessions can be in-person or online via zoom/voice chat and will be one hour long.  Depending on student need, these sessions may be required in addition to the small group work, especially for students with highly targeted goals and needs.

Cost: $50 for 30 minutes, average session is 90 minutes ($150)

Digital check-in support - An option for students who cannot come for one-on-one coaching or who need regular support as opposed to longer in-person sessions.  Digital support can include: short video or voice calls; voice memos; or text exchanges on an appropriate platform (ie: Discord or Messenger Kids) to provide advice and nudges to help students get through the school week. These check-ins typically are short and scheduled during convenient times through the day (ie. 3 times a week after school or Sunday evening and Thursday after school).

Varies depending on method & frequency of communication, $40/hour.

Parent coffee chat group - A chat group for parents whose kids are struggling to come together and talk about their issues and ask questions of a professional educator. Parents can learn strategies they can take home and use with their kids as well as the opportunity to build community and friendships that will benefit them and their kids beyond the WebbSprout classroom.

*Note: Parent coffee & chat group is currently paused.

Parents are also encouraged to join for the final 30 minutes of their children’s small group sessions to participate, observe, or ask questions while the kids enjoy their reward of free play at the end of their group sessions.

Coffee sessions last for two hours  with coffee & tea available. Cost varies depending on group size between $20 ~ $40 per hour.

Ongoing family support - Parents can book a session with Ms. Webb for a more focused and intensive discussion about their child and their needs. These sessions are best held as a home visit so that Ms. Webb is able to help assess the real-life, authentic settings where problems may arise.

Cost: $40/hour

Assessment and diagnosis assistance - Ms. Webb cannot diagnose, but as an educator with 20+ years of experience, she is able to assess and write a report for school or diagnostic professionals with her professional observations about her students.  This work requires at least 10 hours in coaching or group sessions before giving any professional opinions on a student.  She can also provide advice on the diagnostic process and the different resources available to parents once a diagnosis is received.

Writing IEP recommendations and attending meetings - Through her intensive work with students, Ms.Webb is able to develop recommendations for accommodations that will help the student at school.  She can also be hired to advocate for those accommodations at IEP meetings or other opportunities for communication that the parents wish to set up.

Ms.Webb believes in helping the kids develop self-advocacy.  The coaching is meant to support the kids being able to speak up for their own needs to teachers and parents in the future. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Ms. Webb is disabled and has built WebbSprout out of her home in part to accommodate her difficulty in commuting to schools as a substitute teacher. However, she also knows the importance of visiting the school and home in developing a holistic strategy to help your child.

Transportation can be arranged in several ways. Ms. Webb prefers if the parents can provide transportation to the school or home, as the drive can be an opportunity to talk and prepare for the upcoming meeting. If parents are not able to provide transportation, Ms. Webb will arrange for an Uber or other ride-sharing service, and that cost will be passed on to the parents.
